Early Printing Museum
청주고인쇄박물관, "Cheongju goh-een-say bahk-mool-gwahn"
The museum has exhibits showcasing the development of printing technology, as well as books from the Shila, Goryeo and Chosun dynasties. Expect to see and hear a lot about "Jikji," the world’s oldest movable metal-type printed book, since it was printed in Cheongju. Admission is 6,000 won.
Cheongju National History Museum
국립청주박물관, "goong-neep Cheongju bahk-mool-gwahn"
On display are artifacts excavated from Chungcheongbuk Province, presented chronologically from pre-historic times to the Joseon dynasty. It also hosts a variety of special and traveling exhibitions each year. It is closed on Mondays. Admission is free.
Craft Museum
한국공예관, "hahn-gook gohng-yay-gwahn"
It has rotating exhibits of Korean crafts on 4 floors.
Uam Children's Center
우암 어린이 회관, "oo-ahm aw-reen-ee hway-gwahn"
Not just for children! Some interesting exhibits about North Korea, insects, world masks, minerals, and fish.
Cheongju Zoo
청주 동물원, "Cheongju dohng-mool-wuhn"
The Cheongju Zoo is home to 125 different kinds of animals including lions, tigers, bears, kangaroos, an eagle, a leopard, emus and flamingos. But it is a small-town zoo, so set your expectations low and you will enjoy it. There is also a petting zoo, and you can take a hike through the trails in the hills behind the zoo. Admission is 800 won. Closed on Mondays.
