New City Districts

Starting in July of this year, Cheongju has expanded and created new districts. Now, instead of 2 districts, there are 4: Heungdeok-gu (west), Sangdang-gu (east), Cheongwon-gu (north), Seowon-gu (south). 

Cheongju has also incorporated some outlying areas and smaller towns, like Ochang, Jeungpyeong, and Cheongwon.
