Gwon-ga-jae-myeon-so

Gwon-ga-jae-myeon-so is a new restaurant hidden away in Sannam-dong. The interior is spacious and combines modern and traditional Korean aspects to create a vibrant and appealing setting. Even with it’s somewhat isolated location, it has been a big hit and has garnered a loyal customer base. The menu features many things you’d expect to find at a kim-bob place, but done better than you might have known was even possible. They do it how it was meant to be done!

Donggas (돈까스)
If you’re going to make the trip out, get the donggas! I know, donggas, the tough pork cutlet with the scratchy breading and super-thick sauce to wash it down, right? No!

At Gwon-ga-jae-myeon-so, donggas is made fresh in the restaurant. The cutlets are tender and tasty. The breading is light, flaky, and carefully seasoned. Even the sauce is a step-up, much thinner and flavorful than the norm, which resembles a thick steak-sauce. The size is nothing to complain about either, thicker and longer than what you’d get out of the frozen section of your local mart. It comes with a side salad, egg with rice, green onion broth, and a few jalapenos for a palate cleanser. It costs 10,000 won, but well worth it in quality and size compared to the average donggas joint. Don’t judge donggas until you try this! Honestly, you may not even think it’s the same dish.

They have a good selection of non-donggas items as well. But, get the donggas!
