Cheongwon Organic Life Festival

​Cheongwon Organic Life Festival is a 10-day event taking place in Ochang’s Miraeji Theme Park. The festival includes performances, exhibitions, experiences, activities, and food. It was created as a festival for special local products (produced in the Cheongju area) and environmentally-friendly agriculture. It will be open from 10am~9pm every day, and costs 5,000won for admission.

To get there by taxi, say “Cheong-won Seng-myeong Chook-chay” (청원생명축제). Depending on where you’re coming from in Cheongju (the more north you are, the better), it could cost 15,000~25,000.

To get there by public transit, take a city bus (712, 712-1, 713, 713-1, 717) out to Ochang Plaza. There will be a shuttle to the festival from Ochang Plaza every 20 minutes or so that costs 500won.

Board Game Night

​This Saturday, people will be meeting up to play board games at Cafe Pascucci in Chungdae (across from Lotteria). There will be a variety of games to play, some classics and some you've probably never heard of (but don’t worry—there’s always someone to explain them!). You could even bring your own game if you’d like. It will be from 4pm to 8pm, but you can come and go as you please.  It will be a good time to have fun and meet people.

Cheongju International Craft Biennale

​Every two years, Cheongju is host to this event, which includes art galleries, craft exhibitions, performances, and hands-on experiences. 

It runs from September 16 to October 25, so you have plenty of time to take advantage of this festival. Tickets are 10,000 won at the door, or 8,000 in advance online.

There are special performances or events on Friday and Saturday nights, and Saturday and Sunday afternoons. It's open 9am to 6pm.

It is located in Naedeok-dong, near the bus stop for the Cheongju Industrial Complex (청주문화산업단지). You can say the name of the event to a taxi driver: 공예 비엔날레 ("gohng-yay bee-en-nahl-lay").

Goesan International Organic Expo

Goesan (괴산, pronounced “gway-sahn”) is a town in our province about an hour away. Every year, they host a large organic international expo that envisions the development of the organic agriculture industry while promoting new value-added local and global businesses.
 
There are a variety of outdoor exhibitions and indoor exhibition halls, different experience centers, food courts and cafes, and a trade fair.
 
It’s open 9am~6pm every day. Admission is 10,000won for adults.

It takes place at the Organic Expo Farm in front of the Goesan County office. To get there, get a bus from the Intercity (Shiwae) Terminal to Goesan (via Jeungpyeong). It takes about one hour.
